The Holidays are here, and 2009 is winding to a close. APPLE has brought you a lot of big changes this year: topping the list is the brand new APPLE Center for Sustainable Living, which opened just a few short months ago. If you haven't stopped in yet, make a point to take a look at the displays, the library, the retail selection, and more.
2010 will bring changes too - first and foremost, we are changing the format and location of our public events. The 2009 Sustainability Series at the Unitarian Chapel was a big success, and this year's public events have a lot to offer too - so read on - and, Happy Holidays from all of us at APPLE!
Kids Make Gifts
Two sessions for kids to make holiday gifts for their friends and family while parents shop downtown Nevada City. 10am-noon for 4-7 yr olds and 2-4pm for 7-10 yr olds. $10 materials fee.
APPLE Public Event - Water Exhibit Opening at the Center
Join us to celebrate and learn about our precious resource: WATER.
The APPLE Center's latest exhibit shows where our water comes from, where it goes, and what we need to know about it. Guest speaker, Jason Rainey, Executive Director of the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) will present the introduction to this exhibit which shows through February at the APPLE Center.

Would you like to get the APPLE Board's opinions on the best way to help your idea become reality?
There are some new online features at the APPLE web page (www.apple-nc.org) to get your ideas in to the hopper. Look for the Idea Farm on the main web page and plant your idea now; or, If you have an event or project that is already taking shape, you can fill out our Application for Support or Endorsement.
