"Peak Moment" TV Show

"Peak Moment: Community Responses to a Changing Energy Future" may well be the first television series on the topic of "peak oil" and positive responses to energy decline.

The weekly half-hour program features energy news with Rick Hartmann, followed by host Janaia Donaldson's conversations with guests about local food production, renewable energy, transportation alternatives, sustainability, economic localization, personal responses, and other topics. How can we thrive, build stronger communities, and help one another in this time of transition?

This APPLE project is produced by Janaia Donaldson and directed by Robyn Mallgren of Yuba Gals Independent Media, and crewed by APPLE members, using the facilities of Nevada County TV.

Peak Moment airs in the Grass Valley area on NCTV cable channel 11 on Thursday nights at 7 pm, and Tuesdays at 3:30 pm. The programs are available by DVD and on the internet through Global Public Media (Click Here)

Peak Moment episodes are being valuable for other communities. It is now being aired on several public access TV stations across the U.S. We are actively seeking people to submit programs to their local station, most of which require a local person to be the submitter. To help, contact Janaia Donaldson at janaia(at)peakmoment.tv.

New on Aug 4: Peak Moment is on the road, taping programs in the Pacific Northwest through the end of August. Host/producer Janaia Donaldson and director Robyn Mallgren have packed their VW vanagon with video gear and are taping conversations and tours in about a dozen communities in Washington, Oregon, and Vancouver B.C. You can follow the adventures on their blog at www.relocalize.net/peakmomenttravels. Add your comments!
