Alliance for People Powered Transportation

We focus on promoting bicycle and pedestrian transportation in Nevada County through:

  • Support for cyclists — Cycling workshops on bicycle safety, skills, and equipment

Worried about riding in traffic? It's a lot safer than you might think. When cyclists act like vehicles and follow traffic law, stay visible to motorists, and understand how much power they have to prevent common accidents, riding a bicycle is a safe, healthy, inexpensive, low-petroleum way to get around. Everyone who drives a car legally in this country must learn rules of the road and vehicle operation. Learning how to ride a bicycle safely is just as important. You have the right to ride on the road - use it!

  • Route and riding buddy connection

Not sure what route is best? Would you like a more experienced riding buddy for your first time out? Contact us for help!

  • Advocacy in official quarters

Join in the Critical Mass bike ride on the last Friday of every month, 5:15pm in the Grass Valley City Hall parking lot! It's a great way to meet your fellow wheelers and see the town.
